Exhibition Dates Announced

BTS leader RM will present his first private collection exhibition, “RM X SFMOMA,” at the San Francisco Museum of Modern Art (SFMOMA) from October 2026 through February 2027, BigHit Music confirmed on October 3 (KST).

About the Exhibition

The exhibition will feature around 200 works, blending RM’s personal collection with pieces from SFMOMA’s own holdings. RM will also take an active role as a co-curator, highlighting his dual identity as both collector and artist.

A First for SFMOMA

This collaboration marks the first time SFMOMA has partnered with a K-pop artist. The museum initiated the project, recognizing RM’s thoughtful collecting practices and his passion for contemporary art.

SFMOMA’s Chief Curator Janet Bishop said,

“Visitors will gain an unprecedented opportunity to experience RM’s beautiful and contemplative collection of paintings and sculptures in conversation with works from our holdings.”

RM’s Vision

RM expressed his hopes for the exhibition, stating,

“We live in an era defined by boundaries. I hope this exhibition becomes a place to reflect on the boundaries between East and West, Korea and the U.S., modern and contemporary, the individual and the universal. There is no set way to appreciate it, but I hope it serves as a small yet solid bridge for many.”

What to Expect

The show will include works from Korean contemporary masters as well as internationally renowned artists. Many of the pieces will be displayed to the public for the first time, offering a rare glimpse into RM’s artistic sensibility and cultural perspective.
