A Heartfelt Reunion on You Quiz on the Block
Comedians Lee Kyung-sil and Jo Hye-ryun appeared as guests on the October 15 (KST) episode of tvN’s You Quiz on the Block, where they opened up about their long-standing friendship and personal struggles.
Jo Hye-ryun recalled the difficult period following her divorce more than a decade ago, sharing, “I couldn’t even confide in Yoo Jae-suk about my personal struggles. I felt pressured that a comedian’s personal life shouldn’t appear dark.” She went on to express deep gratitude to Lee Kyung-sil, who had encouraged her to return from China after living there for several months.
Lee Kyung-sil added, “I’ve walked that path myself and didn’t want her to go through the same pain. Sure enough, she took all the hits. We all know why that happened.” Jo responded, “That’s when I realized how much she truly cared for me.”
Jo Hye-ryun Gives Positive Update on Park Mi-sun
During the broadcast, Jo Hye-ryun also shared an update on fellow entertainer Park Mi-sun, who had been the subject of cancer rumors earlier this year after stepping away from broadcasting due to health concerns.
Her agency had previously stated, “We can’t confirm specific medical details, but she is currently taking a break for health reasons.”
Jo Hye-ryun revealed, “Mi-sun unnie has been resting from broadcasting, and there were so many articles about her. She called me and said, ‘I’ve completely finished my treatment, and thank you for praying for me all this time.’”
“We’re Not Alone—We’re Family”
Jo Hye-ryun expressed heartfelt appreciation for Park Mi-sun’s strength and openness, saying, “Unnie is truly magnanimous. I was so grateful that she told me first that she’s recovered.”
Reflecting on her own time away from the spotlight, Jo added, “When I wasn’t active in broadcasting and was taking a break, I realized—this is exactly how Kyung-sil unnie felt when she reached out to me. We’re not alone—we’re family.”
The episode served as both a touching reunion and a reminder of the deep bonds and empathy shared among Korea’s veteran comedians—proof that beyond the laughter, there’s enduring friendship and strength.
