BLACKPINK’s JENNIE has officially released her highly anticipated debut solo album “RUBY” today, OA Entertainment (ODDATELIER) announced. The album marks a significant milestone in her career as a solo artist, showcasing her creative vision across 15 diverse tracks.
The album, which JENNIE personally produced, features title track “like JENNIE” alongside previously released singles “Mantra,” “Love Hangover,” and “ExtraL.” Additional tracks include “Seoul City,” “Starlight,” and “twin” among others, creating a comprehensive musical portrait of the artist.
JENNIE shared her personal connection to the project, stating, “This album holds great significance as it contains my story as a solo artist expressed through my own voice and perspective.” She revealed that the album was inspired by Shakespeare’s play “As You Like It,” exploring themes of birth, love, belief, and culmination.
“The image of opening a theater curtain on the album jacket symbolizes the beginning of a new chapter in my musical life,” JENNIE explained. “The process of creating this album was a precious journey of growth as an artist and finding my true voice.”
The release boasts an impressive lineup of collaborators including Childish Gambino, Doechii, Dominic Fike, Dua Lipa, FKJ, and Kali Uchis. For purists, the physical album includes a special “JENNIE Only Audio” version featuring tracks with JENNIE’s vocals only, without guest features.
To celebrate the release, JENNIE is hosting a popup experience called “Rubify” at Hyundai Card Music Library Vinyl & Plastic in Yongsan, Seoul, running until March 13.
