On October 9th (KST), BLACKPINK’s Jennie celebrated Hangul Day by releasing a new Korean font in collaboration with her agency, OA Entertainment. The font, named “ZEN SERIF,” is now available for free download on the agency’s official website.
“ZEN SERIF” uniquely blends elements of the Western Blackletter typeface with Hangul, incorporating smooth curves that soften its otherwise rigid appearance. The font is also compatible with “Edits,” a short-form video editing app on Instagram, marking the first time a Hangul font has been registered in the app.
OA Entertainment explained that the font was designed “to share the beauty of Hangul with the world.” The agency also noted that Jennie has long expressed her love and pride for Korea, citing her song “Seoul City” from her first studio album as an example of her admiration for her homeland.
Fans and creators can now download ZEN SERIF for personal or creative use, bringing a modern, artistic touch to Hangul text.
