Actor Kim Soo Hyun’s agency has announced they will formally address allegations regarding his relationship with the late actress Kim Sae Ron next week, as the controversy continues to intensify across Korean entertainment and advertising industries.
Gold Medalist stated on March 13 that they will “present our position next week based on clear evidence to correct factual inaccuracies and respond to groundless rumors.” While specific details about the timing and format were not disclosed, the agency apologized for “causing fatigue over this extended period.”
The allegations first emerged on March 10 when YouTube channel “Garosero Research Institute” claimed Kim dated Kim Sae Ron for six years, beginning in 2015 when she was 15 years old, citing conversations with Kim Sae Ron’s family. The channel has since released additional materials, including photos allegedly showing Kim kissing Kim Sae Ron’s cheek and purported letters from 2018 and 2019 containing pet names and affectionate expressions.
Despite mounting calls for his removal from MBC’s variety show “Good Day,” Kim reportedly participated in today’s scheduled filming. The production team acknowledged the situation, noting they “proceeded with filming while minimizing the schedule.”
The controversy has already impacted Kim’s commercial partnerships, with several brands including Tous Les Jours bakery chain, Homeplus retail stores, and outdoor brand Eider distancing themselves from the actor over the past 48 hours.
