A K-pop Star Enters Hollywood
SIYOON, member of the acclaimed K-pop group Billlie, is officially making her Hollywood debut in the upcoming thriller film Perfect Girl. The project marks her first major acting role, expanding her artistic reach beyond music into film.
Following her appearance on Apple TV+’s KPOPPED, SIYOON joins an international ensemble cast including Adeline Rudolph (Mortal Kombat II, Chilling Adventures of Sabrina) and Arden Cho (KPop Demon Hunters, Partner Track).
Inside Perfect Girl: A Thriller Set in the K-pop World
Perfect Girl dives into the high-pressure environment of aspiring K-pop trainees, exploring the desires, rivalries, and mysterious events that unfold amid their pursuit of stardom. The screenplay, written by Lynn Q. Yu—whose work earned a spot on Hollywood’s 2023 Black List—promises a gripping mix of ambition and suspense.
The film is directed by Hong Wonki of ZANYBROS, known for his work on Zombie Hunter, Urban Myths, and The Cursed. Production is helmed by Badlands and Thunder Roads Film, signaling a powerful collaboration between Korean and Western studios.
A Reunion with ZANYBROS
Fans of Billlie will recognize Hong Wonki’s connection to SIYOON—he previously directed the group’s visually captivating music videos for “GingaMingaYo (the strange world)” and “Patbingsu.” Their reunion in Perfect Girl has heightened anticipation for the film, with expectations of the same creative synergy and cinematic flair that defined those iconic visuals.
A Rising Star’s Expanding Universe
SIYOON’s acting debut comes on the heels of a prolific year. In April, she and fellow Billlie member MOON SUAformed the group’s first sub-unit and released the track “SNAP (feat. sokodomo)”, which charted across 10 countries on iTunes. The duo later featured on “WoW (Way of Winning)”, part of ARrC’s second single album.
Billlie has also been building its global presence, performing alongside Patti LaBelle and Megan Thee Stallion during KPOPPED’s Apple TV+ special, and continuing to showcase the group’s expanding artistry to worldwide audiences.
