K-pop Icon to Represent Korea’s Cultural Influence at Prestigious APEC Summit Event
Global superstar G-DRAGON will headline the APEC (Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation) Summit Welcome Dinner, performing for world leaders and high-ranking officials from 21 member nations.
A Historic Stage for a Global Icon
As the official APEC Summit Ambassador, G-DRAGON will perform on October 31 (KST) at the Rahan Hotel Grand Ballroom in Gyeongju, the venue for the high-profile welcome dinner. Notably, he will be the only K-pop artisttaking the stage at this year’s summit, underscoring his role as a representative of Korea’s creative and cultural leadership on the world stage.
His upcoming performance is described as an innovative and visionary showcase expected to reflect Korea’s artistic excellence and enhance the global prestige of the APEC event.
Promoting APEC’s Message Through Culture
Widely recognized as a “cultural icon” and trendsetter across music, fashion, art, and technology, G-DRAGON was appointed APEC Ambassador in July. Since then, he has actively supported APEC’s global initiatives, including starring in a promotional video that has become a viral sensation — surpassing 17 million views as of October 27 and earning acclaim for “opening a new chapter in international event promotion.”
Despite his busy U.S. world tour schedule, G-DRAGON reportedly traveled between Korea and the U.S. for the video shoot, showcasing his deep dedication to his ambassadorial role.
An APEC organizing committee representative praised the artist’s impact, stating:
“As a global influencer, G-DRAGON is the ideal figure to effectively communicate APEC’s core values of connection and sustainability to audiences worldwide. We anticipate an outstanding performance from him during the welcome dinner.”
Continuing His Global Journey
In addition to his ambassador duties, G-DRAGON is currently captivating fans around the globe with his “G-DRAGON 2025 WORLD TOUR [Übermensch]”. Beginning in Korea, the tour has traveled through Tokyo, Bulacan, Osaka, Macau, Sydney, Melbourne, Taipei, Kuala Lumpur, Jakarta, Hong Kong, and major U.S. cities including Newark, Las Vegas, and Los Angeles, before reaching Paris, France.
Following his successful Osaka shows on October 20–21, he will continue the tour in Taipei and Hanoi in November, before concluding with a highly anticipated finale in Seoul this December.
With his upcoming APEC performance, G-DRAGON once again bridges the worlds of diplomacy and culture — reaffirming his status as one of the most influential figures in global entertainment.
