Seoul Grants Conditional Permission for BTS Comeback Performance
Global boy group BTS is set to make a highly anticipated appearance at Gwanghwamun Square. On January 22 (KST), the Seoul Metropolitan Government announced that it has granted conditional approval for BTS’s comeback performance during a Gwanghwamun Square advisory committee meeting.
HYBE Prioritizes Gwanghwamun as Symbolic Comeback Venue
Ahead of the decision, BTS’s agency HYBE selected Gwanghwamun Square as the top choice for a meaningful venue to showcase the group’s return. The company recently submitted applications for usage permits not only for Gwanghwamun Square but also for nearby historic locations, including Gyeongbokgung Palace and Sungnyemun Gate.
BTS is currently coordinating with relevant authorities such as the Seoul Metropolitan Government, the police, and the Cultural Heritage Administration. Applications for filming and venue use at Gyeongbokgung Palace and Sungnyemun Gate have also been submitted for review.
Cultural Heritage Administration Also Issues Conditional Approval
On January 20, the Cultural Heritage Administration granted conditional approval for BTS’s performance plans at Gwanghwamun Square, further advancing preparations for the large-scale event.
BTS to Release Fifth Full-Length Album and Launch Record-Breaking World Tour
BTS will release their fifth full-length album, ARIRANG, on March 20. Following the album’s release, the group will kick off a new world tour starting April 9 at Goyang Sports Complex. The tour will include 79 shows across 34 cities worldwide, marking the highest number of performances ever recorded for a K-pop artist.
