BTS’ leader RM has blessed ARMYs with the most heartfelt, philosophical Weverse update while counting down his final days in the military! On March 4, Namjoon shared that he’s officially entered double-digits with just 99 days remaining until his discharge!
In his message, RM paints a vivid picture of military life in Hwacheon, where they’re experiencing 17cm of snow while other parts of Korea are enjoying 20Β°C weather. “A junior soldier is building an igloo in front of our barracks,” he shared, reflecting on the memories he’s creating.
With his signature intellectual depth, RM revealed he’s been spending his nights reading Erich Fromm’s “The Art of Loving,” contemplating the nature of love as a skill that requires practice: “We practice drawing, playing guitar, and studying hundreds of times, but why do we try to approach the most important thing in life – ‘love’ – without any practice?”
In a particularly touching reflection about his relationship with fans, he wrote: “Love has many types, temperatures, and expressions. What about us, who aren’t one-to-one but one-to-many or many-to-one? What is a music creator making, and what are listeners hearing? What are we looking at and what are we loving? With what determination have I stood before you for 11 years?”
The BTS leader confirmed he has about three months left of service (18% remaining), saying: “Will I die before then? No, I should greet you all healthily. I have many stories to tell through music and words.”
His message ended with a sweet promise: “Spring is coming! (While shoveling 17cm of snow) When you start feeling a bit hot, I/we will come out and keep bothering you, so live your best life until then!”
