With Lost and Found, VERIVERY charges back onto the scene with a sound and message that feel more confident, defined, and intentional than ever. Their comeback marks a vibrant new era; one fueled by growth, creativity, and a clear sense of who they are as artists.

To mark this comeback, RAIN FM connected with VERIVERY through an exclusive written interview, diving into the stories behind Lost and Found, the group’s growth during their hiatus, and the meaning behind this new chapter.

Congrats on your long-awaited comeback! What emotions are you experiencing now that you’re officially back?

YEONHO: Since this is a comeback after two and a half years, I’m very excited to meet our fans, VERRER, more than anything. I can’t wait to show cool performances to our fans!

KANGMIN: There are a lot of emotions going through as we’re back after a long hiatus. Of course, we feel very excited and happy to get back on stage after a long time, but there are some worries about whether we’ll do well or not.

Over the past few years, especially during your hiatus, you each had time to reflect and explore new experiences. For you personally, what did that period teach you about your identity as an artist? And looking back, what advice would you give to your 2019 self as you were just beginning your journey?

GYEHYEON: During the hiatus, I got to look back on myself by appearing on BOYS II PLANET and taking vocal lessons. And that time reminded me how much I love dancing and singing. If I were to give advice to my younger self back in 2019, I’d say never forget your passion, and make sure to keep it well and grow it further.

You’ve taken on major challenges through Road to Kingdom and Boys II Planet. Looking back, what lessons or insights from those experiences continue to shape you as artists today?

YONGSEUNG: By participating in a survival program, I think I got more used to painting a bigger picture with a strong trust in my members. Also, we got to grow further by learning from other competitors in the program.

KANGMIN: After meeting contestants on BOYS II PLANET who are desperate for the stage with a serious attitude, I felt grateful to be back on the stage with much more responsibility.

You’re known for being deeply involved in your music; from self-producing to shaping the visual storytelling behind your videos. For this album, what did the creative process look like behind the scenes? Did any members take on specific roles or responsibilities that might surprise fans?

DONGHEON: For all tracks in this album, our members participated in either composition or lyric writing. I participated in composition and lyrics for two B-side tracks, “empty” and “Cotton Candy (Blame Us).” YEONHO participated in lyric writing for “RED (Beggin’),” and GYEHYEON participated in composition and lyrics for “Cotton Candy (Blame Us).” We wanted to convey our message as clearly and fully as possible in this album.

YEONHO: We had a specific message that we wanted to express in each track. For example, we wanted to talk about desperation, one of the themes of this comeback, as a story of VERIVERY in the title track, “RED (Beggin’).” For the fan song, “Cotton Candy (Blame Us),” we focused on confessing our hearts to our fans, who have been waiting for us. With “empty,” we wanted to convey the mindset of ‘let’s enjoy more’ through the sound that we’ve never tried before. By participating in making this album, I think we were able to convey the messages with more sincerity.

When crafting the sound and direction of this album, what influences, musical or otherwise, had the biggest impact on the final result?

DONGHEON: When we make music, we always think about our fans. Since we’re releasing Lost and Found after a long wait, we thought a lot about what we’ll present to our fans, and what story we’ll tell at this point of life.

YEONHO: I’d say it’s ourselves from the past. We focused on working on new music while discovering ourselves to think about what we’ve lost and move forward.

Every music-video shoot has its memorable moments. Were there any funny stories, unexpected challenges, or hidden easter eggs during filming that fans should keep an eye out for?

GYEHYEON: If you watch the music video, there is a scene where I’m running and chasing a train, and it was a bit difficult to find the perfect timing. I ended up acting sad after missing the train, and I actually suggested that idea to our director, so that’s a memorable moment for me.

YONGSEUNG: For me, the most memorable moment is the group choreography scene in the rain, which was an homage to a scene from the movie Step Up. I think you’ll enjoy the music video even more if you focus on the storyline.

KANGMIN: It’s been a while since we filmed a music video, so every moment ended up being a wonderful memory. It’s not really hidden, but I think our group choreography scenes turned out very cool, so I hope our fans will enjoy them.

This comeback has been long-awaited, and fans have been eagerly counting down the days. What message would you like to share with them as you return with this new era?

GYEHYEON: First and foremost, I want to say thank you and sorry to all the fans who have been waiting for us. It must be very hard for them to wait for us during our long hiatus, but now that we’re back, we’ll have more time together. And we’ll try to make more opportunities to meet our fans as much as possible, so I hope you look forward to our activities! Please send much love and support to Lost and Found and VERIVERY!

VERIVERY’s Lost and Found is more than a comeback, it’s a statement of growth, rediscovery, and genuine artistic intention. Through their reflections, challenges, and renewed passion, the members have shown just how much they’ve evolved during their time away.

With fresh stories to tell and a strengthened bond with VERRER, this chapter marks an exciting beginning for the group. And if Lost and Found is any indication, the journey ahead promises to be their most compelling yet.
